Texas homeowner injures burglar with a machete: cops

A machete-wielding homeowner in Texas significantly wounded a suspect who tried to break into his household early Wednesday, authorities reported. 

El Paso law enforcement reported the home owner woke up all-around 4:15 a.m. to the seem of glass breaking. He walked exterior and found a guy keeping a metallic rod breaking the front home windows of his property, police stated. 

“Armed with a machete, the property owner informed the person to go away, but a confrontation ensued and the home owner struck the intruder in the experience with the machete,” according to the section. 

The suspect, discovered as Carlos Esteban Villaescusa, 22, ran from responding law enforcement officers but was arrested soon after jumping into a neighbor’s yard. 

Law enforcement explained he also trespassed into a second home on the very same block and broke the entrance window of one more dwelling. 

Villaescusa was hospitalized with severe injuries experienced throughout the confrontation with the home-owner. 

He will be booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility pursuing his release from a hospital.

Villaescusa faces fees of theft of a habitation, evading arrest or detention, legal mischief, and criminal trespass, law enforcement reported.
