Surfer dies after shark attack off Australia’s east coast


A surfer has died following he was bitten by a shark off the eastern coast of Australia, officials reported.

The male, who is believed to be in his 20s, endured a substantial personal injury to his arm when he was attacked by the shark Sunday off Shelly and Emerald beach locations in Coffs Harbour, about 330 miles north of Sydney, CNN documented.

“A selection of area surfers and bystanders arrived to the assist of this gentleman,” New South Wales ambulance formal Chris Wilson explained to the outlet. “Despite the best efforts of bystanders, paramedics and other unexpected emergency companies, the affected individual couldn’t be revived.”
