Pentagon requires US military to get COVID-19 vaccine


The Pentagon on Monday announced that all US military services members will be necessary to be vaccinated against the coronavirus now that the Food stuff and Drug Administration has offered total approval to the Pfizer vaccine.

Spokesman John Kirby said the Division of Defense will “issue current steering requiring all support members to be vaccinated” and will launch a time for the inoculations in the coming times. 

“The wellness of a force is as normally — navy or civilian personnel, households and communities — a leading priority. So it’s significant to remind all people that these initiatives ensure the security of our services users and promote the readiness of our pressure, not to mention the wellness and security of the communities all around the place in which we stay,” Kirby said at a briefing on functions in Afghanistan.

“I will request the president’s approval to make the vaccines mandatory no later on than mid-September, or immediately upon” licensure by the Foodstuff and Drug Administration, “whichever will come initial,” Austin claimed in a memo to President Biden. 

The Fda accredited the two-shot Pfizer vaccine Monday.

The firm was granted crisis use authorization for the vaccine in December.

Performing Food and drug administration Commissioner Dr. Janet Woodcock said the acceptance means Us residents can be “confident” in the vaccine.

“While this and other vaccines have fulfilled the FDA’s arduous scientific expectations for crisis use authorization, as the initially Fda approved Covid-19 vaccine, the public can be assured that this vaccine satisfies the FDA’s gold typical for safety, effectiveness and manufacturing excellent that we have to have for an authorized products,” she claimed.

Moderna and Johnson & Johnson have also applied to the Food and drug administration for entire approval of their vaccines.
