Only one bomb detonated in Kabul airport attack

The Pentagon now suggests only one particular bomb — and not two like beforehand reported — was detonated outdoors Kabul airport Thursday that killed 13 US support users and at minimum 169 Afghans.

Army Maj. Gen. William “Hank” Taylor admitted for the duration of a press briefing Friday that there was only just one ISIS-affiliated explosion at the Abbey gate at Hamid Karzai Worldwide Airport.

US officers had formerly said a next explosion happened outside the house the close by Baron Resort.

“I can verify for you that we do not imagine that there was a 2nd explosion at or in close proximity to the Baron Resort, that it was a person suicide bomber. We’re not absolutely sure how that report was supplied incorrectly,” he mentioned.

The 18 US service users wounded in the attack have due to the fact landed at the American Ramstein Air Base in Germany the place they are getting dealt with, Taylor reported.
