Oklahoma gubernatorial candidate Paul Tay charged with kidnapping, rape



A fringe prospect for Oklahoma governor was arrested Monday for allegedly kidnapping and raping a would-be marketing campaign worker, law enforcement mentioned.

Paul Tay, 58, is accused of attacking the girl on two independent occasions just after she responded to a Craigslist advert on Sunday for a position on his campaign crew, the Tulsa Police Division claimed in a news launch.

Later Sunday, Tay picked up the girl, who did not have a car or truck, and as an alternative of heading to the supposed place of Oklahoma Town, the applicant headed toward Tulsa, according to police.

The frightened woman experimented with to escape the car or truck, but Tay allegedly hit her in the head with a pipe and sexually assaulted her, according to cops.

Tay then ran out of fuel, but managed to panhandle for money to fill his tank, the information launch claimed.

With the woman however inside of his vehicle, Tay drove back to his Tulsa house and allegedly raped her, police reported.

On Monday, the girl persuaded Tay to push her to Walmart for cleanliness products. There, she flagged down aid from keep staff, who referred to as the police.

Tay was caught by cops in the parking whole lot. He was charged with rape, kidnapping and assault with a harmful weapon.

Tay declared his extended-shot bid for governor earlier this calendar year, KFOR documented.
