NYers flock to Manhattan Ben & Jerry’s after West Bank boycott sales slump


Enthusiasts of ice cream — and the land of milk and honey — schlepped to an Higher West Facet Ben & Jerry’s Thursday to help save the shop following its mum or dad company’s freeze on profits in the West Financial institution chilled its bottom line.

Sales at the Manhattan shop had plunged soon after Ben & Jerry’s imposed a boycott on Israeli-occupied regions final week —  but it experienced rebounded by 10 percent following the Publish report Thursday, Gasman explained to the Put up.

Other consumers canceled catering gatherings or simply just stopped dropping in, he reported. 

Internationally, the go sparked backlash from Israelis and Jewish groups, some of whom named the transfer anti-Semitic.

Gasman very first spoke out about the transfer past week on Fb previous week, declaring it still left a terrible flavor in his mouth — and vowed to donate 10 percent of profits to instructional leads to in Israel.

On Thursday, Joseph Telushkin, 72, mentioned he’d stopped by the store to guidance Gasman’s professional-Israel politics.
