Hurricane Ida’s first death confirmed by Louisiana authorities


Louisiana authorities on Sunday night claimed the initial dying from Hurricane Ida — a person who was probably crushed by a fallen tree.

The fatality was reported in Ascension Parish, which is northwest of New Orleans, at about 8:30 p.m. neighborhood time at a household off Highway 621 in Prairieville, authorities explained.

The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office environment reported that deputies responded and verified the dying.
