Former NASCAR driver John Wes Townley killed in Georgia shooting


A previous NASCAR driver was killed and a lady was injured in a shooting in Georgia on Saturday, a report said.

John Wes Townley, 31, who retired from racing skillfully in 2017, was mortally wounded in the Athens capturing that law enforcement imagine was associated to domestic violence, the Athens Banner-Herald claimed.

The unknown 30-year-previous woman was hospitalized with significant injuries.

It was unclear what, if any, style of marriage existed between Townley and the woman.

Townley retired from specialist racecar driving in 2017.

A 32-calendar year-previous guy who understands the ex-racer is suspected in relationship to the fatal shooting. He has not however been billed.

Townley competed in 76 NASCAR races from 2008 to 2016, predominantly in the Truck Sequence. His sole victory came in 2015 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, in accordance to Motorsport.com.
