A Florida school district in Sarasota County overhauled its COVID-19 mask exemption plan immediately after hundreds of people lined up for hrs outdoors a regional chiropractic clinic searching for a health-related exemption for their small children in response to the district’s mask mandate.

The households lined up outdoors Twin Palms Chiropractic in Venice on Monday — the exact same day that the mask mandate in Sarasota County educational facilities went into impact.

Some men and women claimed that Twin Palms was handing out exemptions far too easily. Paulina Testermen, a mum or dad who went to the clinic, told WFLA, “We were being in and out, came in, signed a clipboard and handed a sheet.”

“Nobody requested to see our little ones. The sorts were pre-signed, there was a stack behind the promises they are seeing on the internet.”

Kelsey Whealy, a spokesperson for Sarasota County Educational institutions, instructed Fox News that the district has because up-to-date its health-related exemption needs.

“The College Board’s unexpected emergency facial area mask policy mandates that pupils and workers dress in facial area masks except they meet up with specific exceptions or qualify for lawfully essential accommodations,” Whealy reported.

The district is now only accepting mask clinical exemptions from clinical medical practitioners, osteopathic physicians or advanced nurse practitioners.

Bryan Kessler, an attorney for the clinic’s guide chiropractor, Dr. Dan Busch, informed Fox News that the college policy’s update was “concerning.”

“There is also problem around the college board unilaterally transforming its coverage to no for a longer period let a certified chiropractic physician to grant an exemption from the mask mandate when state legislation particularly permits a accredited chiropractic medical professional to ‘examine, evaluate and diagnose the human living entire body and its diseases.’”

Kessler also denied the idea that Busch’s clinic was freely handing out exemptions with no appropriately vetting the sufferers.

“Dr. Busch has an proven coverage at Twin Palms Chiropractic of assembly individually with a pupil and parent and/or legal guardian to decide whether a health-related ailment in just the scope of observe as a accredited chiropractor exists which warrants the granting of a mask exemption less than the guidelines proven by the Sarasota County School Board,” Kessler mentioned.
