California votes to return land seized from Black family 100 years ago

California lawmakers have unanimously voted to return key beachfront land to the descendants of a black few who had been run out of town 100 yrs ago following racial harassment by the Ku Klux Klan and white neighbors.

A state Senate bill was handed late Thursday that will give Los Angeles County the authority to transfer the land at Manhattan Seashore back to the household of Willa and Charles Bruce.

The invoice is now currently being sent to Gov. Gavin Newsom to signal so the transfer can be concluded.

The Bruces acquired the beachfront plot back again in 1912 and created the 1st resort for black folks on the West Coast at a time when segregation banned them from the greater part of beach locations.
