Actor Michael K. Williams found dead in NYC apartment


“The Wire’’ actor Michael K. Williams was observed dead of a suspected drug overdose in his Brooklyn penthouse Monday afternoon, regulation-enforcement sources explained to The Write-up.

Drug paraphernalia was discovered in the 5-time Emmy nominee’s condominium, suggesting the acclaimed 54-12 months-outdated actor may perhaps have fatally OD’d, probably from heroin or fentanyl, resources mentioned.

“No foul engage in indicated,” a police resource said. “No compelled entry, the apartment was in purchase.”

Williams was found lifeless by his nephew in the living home of his Kent Avenue pad in the luxury Williamsburg superior-rise, resources stated.

The acclaimed actor advised NPR in 2016 that he when stumbled into a church in New Jersey desperately trying to find aid for his dependancy.

“When I came as a result of those doorways, I was damaged. … This was, I would say, around the … 3rd time of ‘The Wire,’ ” Williams mentioned. 

“I was on medicines. … I was in jeopardy of destroying everything I experienced worked so really hard for, and I arrived in all those doors, and I satisfied a person who experienced by no means even heard of ‘The Wire,’ much less viewed it,” he claimed, referring to the pastor.

“I wrote my total name down — Michael Kenneth Williams — and in the workplace, [the pastor] turns close to, and he claims, ‘So what do you want to be named, man?’  I stated, ‘Well, you know, my title is Michael, but I could do Mike.’ He says, ‘Why does everyone say, ‘Omar, Omar’s in hassle?’ ” And I was like, ‘Oh, this dude is clueless [about the show],’ ” Williams said.
