Parallel session 4.2

Measuring & Reporting Corporate Responsibility. Room: B

“What gets measured, gets done”, as the saying goes. But how do we measure the complexities of the social impact of business? And even if you do manage to measure, how do you get anyone to read those sustainability reports? Large corporations have in-house resources to keep up-to-date with the latest trends. But how do we get small and medium-sized enterprises on board? And what about businesses (or ‘business communities’) in emerging economies and developing countries? Does voluntary compliance work – or do we need government intervention and legislation to establish a level reporting field?
